LCA Color Guard and Winter Guard
Lexington Christian Academy's Color Guard has just finished its most successful season! During the 5 competitions of this Marching Band season, LCA's Guard took 1st place in class 5 times and 1st place overall at one competition against stiff competition from bands much larger than our own! How exciting is that?!?!
LCA's Guard Instructor, Will Stevenson is embarking on an exciting new endeavor for our school and students - Winter Guard.
What is Winter Guard?
It's exciting, entertaining, innovative, crowd pleasing, award-winning! It's
marching, spinning, twirling and swirling, complex maneuvering of bodies and
equipment! It's a touch of ballet, jazz and modern dance, and the synchronization
of flags, rifles, and sabres! It's props, theatrical sets, scenery, gigantic dots
of vinyl floor covering, and glittering costumes. It's indoor pageantry at it's
finest!
“The Rose”
The 2008 LCA Winter Guard will present "The Rose" using music by Bette Midler. The guard will compete in the Tri-State Circuit for the Pageantry Arts (TSC) at 5 contests, culminating with the TSC Championships April 5, 2008. The season's rehearsal schedule is printed below. Be sure to download a copy and keep it handy!
